Do you know your purpose? Do you know what God has called you to do in this life?

A question I like to ask myself is, "How can I best serve the Lord today?"

My son asked me something the other day on Pre-Order day.

He asked, "Why did Jesus tell you to do book work, mommy?"

I told him that Jesus has given me the gift of writing and that is how I can tell people about His love.

He then says, "Maybe just do it with your mouth and shout, Jesus is real!!"

That made me smile, and I thought, "Well yeah, that's good too. But if I only said JESUS IS REAL (I shouted in our apartment) in here, still not as many people would hear, because it's just you and me. But if I write about Jesus in my books, then lots of people can read and learn that Jesus loves them and is real."

He thinks about that for a moment and then says, "YOU JUST HAVE TO SHOUT LOUDER MOMMY, LIKE THIS, JESUS IS REALLLLL!!"

Hehe.

It was cute. But in actuality. It makes me think. I used to be a missionary and did tell people with my mouth that Jesus loves them and is real. Or by my actions, in service.

Now, God has given me the gifts, time and ability to serve Him through writing.

How has He called you? Where has He called you? How can you best serve Him in your life? How can you further God's purpose and plan?

He's Still Right There

This morning I began writing in my journal, with an intention to build an altar for the Lord, reminding myself of His faithfulness. Times and tribulations He has walked us through. I thought I would bullet point these things, but then this flew out and I felt led to share.

"That's the real story right?

How you're good when we're not.

You're fulfilling, and we're lacking.

You're faithful, when we're not.

You're forgiving, when we're impatient.

You're gentle, while we're rushing.

You see us through.

You never leave your children.

You don't just bring us to the train platform and say, "I got you this far! Good luck!"

You walk us on, you ride with us through.

You get off on each step with us.

You never leave.

Yet then, why my heart, do you live so abandoned?

He's still there. You may be looking, but friends, He's right here."
